Single-Leg 45° Leg Press
The single-leg 45° leg press lets you train each side independently and use a deep range when the machine and your mobility allow it. Depth matters only when you can own it.
Use a machine that actually allows depth
Not every 45° leg press gives you the same range. Choose a setup that lets the knee travel close to the torso without the machine structure stopping you too early.
Build depth gradually
If you cannot reach a very deep position yet, start with the range you control and expand it over time. The target is not a forced depth on day one; it is a repeatable range that keeps improving.
Pause in the deepest controlled position
Do not rebound off the bottom. Reach your deepest stable position, pause briefly, then start the concentric from control rather than momentum.
Use the hip as well as the knee
Think about pushing the platform away while also squeezing the glute as you leave the bottom. The cue can help coordinate hip extension instead of turning the rep into a knee-only movement.
Progression and tracking
Keep foot position, seat setup, depth and bottom pause consistent. If one side has less range, let it start from its current ability and improve gradually rather than forcing symmetry immediately.
Raout keeps side, load, reps and setup notes together so differences remain visible.
